The Wedding Preview
What Is a Wedding Preview?
The preview, a separate service from your day-of services, is the beginning of your wedding makeup + hair experience with me. During your preview, we will take the time to have your initial consultation and talk about what you want to see on your wedding day for your look as well as review any inspiration photos you have collected and talk about your personal style. After the initial consultation, we get down to business and we design a custom look just for you. While this time is all about you, I do welcome a member of your family or wedding party to join you. After the preview session I take notes and create a face chart with all the products we used and follow up with you within 24 hours to see how the makeup/Hair held up and what (if any) changes you would like to make.
How Far In Advance Should I book My Preview?
I typically suggest doing your preview 4 to 6 weeks prior to the wedding. Special arrangements can be made on tighter time frames when possible or for out-of-town clients.
Where Are Previews Done?
I offer preview services in my home studio during the week (Monday - Thursday). Occasionally appointments may be available on the weekend during the off-season (November – April). Weekend appointments during prime wedding season are not available due to my commitment to other weddings/events taking place on those days. If the studio location is not an option, travel fees may apply if the preview takes place outside of the Twin Cities Metro Area.
What If I Don’t Like My Makeup?
Believe me I want you to love the look we create together for your wedding day, but I understand sometimes it’s hard to put that look into words. I ask that my clients work with me and communicate when they don’t like something so that I can fix it. It’s just makeup or hairspray! I can’t fix what I don’t know is wrong, and I want my client to walk away from our preview session (and their wedding day) beyond satisfied with their makeup and/or hair look. I will work to get it right and resolve any issues before you leave my chair.

Do You Offer Faux Lashes?
I offer two different types of faux lashes for makeup services, strip lashes as well as individual lashes. Both are temporary applications (no longer than 24 hours.) Faux lashes are complementary to the Bride for her preview as well as on her wedding day. Members of the Wedding Party can add faux lashes to their makeup application for an additional $15.
Do you offer Hair Services?
I do offer hair styling services, and I work with a very talented and experienced network of hair artists who I can secure and schedule for your wedding day if your wedding party is larger or you have an express timeline. These artists have all been vetted by me and work under the same standards I do. I do NOT cut or color, but have a talented roster of artists who do and I would be happy to refer you to them before the wedding day.
Do You Offer Men's Services?
I absolutely offer grooming services to my Clients at their request. Often this is skin correction and enhancement for camera and hair styling. I want everyone to look their best in photos that will last a lifetime. If this is a service you are interested in, or want more information about them, please note that on your inquiry.
Do You Provide Services For LGBTQ Weddings?
Yes! I truly enjoy working with ALL couples celebrating their love. If you are planning either a more traditional ceremony or something completely unique, please reach out to me for an accurate quote on services for the two of you and your wedding party.
What Is Airbrush Makeup?
Airbrush foundation is a formula of makeup that comes in a wide variety of shades and finishes to match each and every skin tone. As a pro artist, I can custom blend colors and finishes to achieve the perfect match to your skin. Airbrush foundation is different from other forms of foundation because it is sprayed via a very fine mist through an airbrush gun that is run off an air compressor. The key benefits of airbrush is that it looks like a natural and near flawless complexion, feels extremely lightweight and it photographs beautifully while still looking natural in person. Airbrush foundations are meant to withstand heat, humidity, tears and even sweat. It is transfer resistant (not transfer-proof!) and will avoid leaving stains on your dress or your groom.
Airbrush foundation is complementary to the bride for her preview as well as on her wedding day along with her bridal party members on the day of.
Do You/Will You Use My Own Makeup?
I understand when a client has tried every mascara (or other product) under the sun and finally has found one that they love. Please note however that if you are asking me to use your products and they are not my "go-tos" for building a bulletproof bridal makeup, I cannot guarantee that your makeup will last the duration of the day and will not be held responsible for any failures in the makeup. Due to liability issues, if you need me to use your products, I require brand new, unopened products provided on the day of your services. I can work around allergies + sensitivities when they are disclosed up front and with enough lead time.
What Products Do You Use?
All of the makeup products I use are professional brands that were designed to photograph beautifully. Some specific makeup brands include: Make Up For Ever, Viseart, MAC, RCMA, TEMPTU and KETT. Some of the hair brands include Aquage, Schwarzkopf and Oribe.
Do You Use Other Artists For The Wedding Party?
I bring on other high-caliber artists only to accommodate larger parties or to meet a very tight timeline (i.e. large party of 8+ all needing to be done in 2-3 hours.) These artists have all been vetted by me and work under the same standards I do. If the client desires specific party members to be done by me personally, I am happy to accommodate requests when creating the schedule.
What Is The Timing Of Each Service?
For each makeup, hair or grooming service, I spend up to; an hour with the Bride, 30 minutes with the Groom and 45 minutes with each member of the Wedding Party. Custom additions such as hair extension placement will add additional time to each appointment.
How Do I Make A Schedule For The Day Of The Wedding?
Never fear, this is one of my specialties. It can be a bit of a surprise to the Wedding Party when creating a schedule for the day of to make sure there is enough time for everything before the ceremony. If you know when your ceremony will be, I can create a timeline for you! I always build in a buffer into the timeline that I will create for any emergencies that may arise. I also coordinate with your photographer and wedding planner to ensure we are all on the same page and there are no last minute surprises and you and your Wedding Party can enjoy the day, relaxed and stress free!
Will My Makeup Stay Looking Fresh If You’re Not There?
I only use high-quality makeup products for your application that have been tested and vetted by me to hold up to all kinds of wedding-day torture. I use primers and setting sprays to ensure your makeup stays put. I do however suggest that the Bride and each member of the Wedding Party have a lipstick or lip gloss to reapply throughout the night as well as blotting papers (instead of powder) to fight any traces of shine. These things are included in an optional Touch-Up kit available for purchase that can be added to your invoice, or I can make recommendations at your preview of the best products to purchase.
Do you provide on-site services for events other than weddings?
Absolutely! While weddings make up a large portion of my business, I do provide makeup + hair for photo shoots, family photos, boudoir photography, actor/model/corporate head shots, proms, private + group makeup lessons and more. My availability and rates vary for each service so contact me with any questions you might have and to get a quote. I’d love to help you with any of your beauty needs!
Do You Travel Beyond Minneapolis/St. Paul?
I absolutely do travel outside the Minneapolis/St. Paul area to locations in Minnesota (Duluth, Rochester, St. Cloud, etc.) as well as out of state weddings or even international destination locations. Contact me today to discuss a personalized quote.
Do You Charge Travel/Parking To Go On-Site?
All travel fees are included for weddings in the immediate Twin Cities Metro Area. Additional travel fees may be incurred for weddings taking place outside the Metro Area such as Duluth, St. Cloud, Rochester, Mankato, Hastings and Hudson WI.
Parking fees may apply per location (Specifically Downtown Minneapolis/St. Paul Hotels).
All travel/parking fees are charged per artist arriving for the wedding party.
Is Tip/Gratuity Included?
Gratuity is not included, but always appreciated.. An industry-standard 18% can be added to your invoice to avoid the hassle of handling cash/credit cards on the day of if you so desire.
What Forms Of Payment Do You Accept?
I accept cash, check or major credit cards for all retainers and final balances. Day-of additions are paid by cash or credit card only. There is a $35 fee for any returned checks and if the retainer is paid by check, the date is not confirmed/held until the check has cleared my bank.
How Do I Officially Book You?
I require a 50%, non-refundable retainer to hold your wedding date exclusively along with a signed contract. The retainer is applied towards the total of your services with the balance due Thirty (30) days before the wedding day.
Are There Any Extra Fees?
The only additional fee is a parking/travel fee. You will receive an invoice thirty (30) days before your wedding day showing you exactly what you are paying for.

How can my images be featured on your webpage / blog?
I love to feature my past Brides, Grooms and Clients on my website either as examples of my work, or in a featured blog post. Once you've received your images from your photographer and picked out the ones you want to share with the world, please send them on to me and I will be happy to post them with credit to your photographer and any other vendor information you provide.
